Razzle Dazzle
It looks like we are in for a nice stretch of sunny weather here in Haines, which is perfect for this weekend’s festivities. For this week’s special, we are partnering with the Haines Community Running Club. For each special we sell, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to their annual Takshanuk Ridge Run, an event taking place this Saturday. Come by and try it in the tasting room, or make it at home! This tasty drink is reminiscent of a pink lemonade, nice and refreshing with a bit of tart and sweet snuck in there, too.
Recipe:
1 oz Strawberry Infused Icy Strait Vodka
.75 oz Raspberry Liqueur
.50 oz Lemon Juice
.25 Simple Syrup
2 dashes Peychauds bitters
Top off with seltzer water
Add all ingredients into a highball or pint glass with fresh ice and stir. Garnish with a strawberry.
To make strawberry infused Icy Strait Vodka:
We use one 16 oz package of strawberries for 2 750 ml bottles of Icy Strait Vodka. Cut the tops of the strawberries off and then quarter the strawberries (this will speed up the infusion process). Infuse vodka for 3 – 5 days, shaking daily. When satisfied with the infusion, strain through a fine mesh sieve and squeeze the strawberries to get the last bit of liquid out. Give one more final strain to improve clarity. You should be left with a beautiful red and slightly sweet strawberry vodka.
