Tangerine Dream
Tangerines are one of the things that make our 50 Fathoms Gin the amazing, award-winning gin that it is. When flipping through one of our many cocktail books, I noticed a drink called 202 Steps created by Phil Ward from Death & Co., which muddled tangerines with bourbon and I thought: why not give it a try? Some prefer to muddle oranges and cherries together when making an Old Fashioned, something I am not a fan of. Upon seeing this recipe, I imaged it would share similar flavors. After tasting it myself though, I found that the tangerines add an extra layer of citrus flavor without muddying up the drink and still remaining balanced. -Garrett
Recipe:
1.5 oz Boatwright Bourbon
.5 oz Demerara Syrup
¼ Tangerine
3 Dashes Orange bitters
Muddle the tangerine and syrup. Add remaining ingredients and ice. Shake and double strain into rocks glass over 1 large ice cube. Garnish with dehydrated clementine.
